topstoryRobbery-pic-1Thanks in part to the public’s help, the Cedar Park Police Department arrested two suspects in the March 2 robbery of the Shell Gas Station located at 2901 Brushy Creek Road.

CPPD arrested Cedar Park resident Robert Anthony Ponce, 19, and Round Rock resident Matthew Manuel Topete, 19, for aggravated robbery March 5. Information released to the media garnered several tips that led to the arrest of both suspects, according to CPPD.

“Through our hotline that we had listed on the press release, we started getting information from people calling in which our detectives followed up on, which led us to these two gentlemen,” CPPD Captain Jeff Hayes said.

According to a CPPD release, early March 2 two armed males entered the Shell Gas Station and demanded cash from the clerk.

Both suspects are being held in the Williamson County Jail with bonds set at $35,000 each. Aggravated robbery is a first degree felony, punishable by life in prison or five to 99 years incarceration with a fine not to exceed $10,000.
