Four teams from the Texas Blaze softball organization earned a berth in different levels of the Amateaur Softball Association of America (ASA) national championship tournaments being played around the country Aug. 1-8.
The Blaze’ top-tier team, the 18u Gold squad, will play in Marietta, Ga. That team features three former and current Vista Ridge softball players in Taylor Thom, Cora Ramirez and Katelyn Williams.
Two 16u teams made their level of the ASA championships in College Station, the 16u Red and the 16u White teams. Vista Ridge’s Kate Parmiter plays for the Red team while Lady Ranger teammates Brittney Siudym plays for the White team.
Finally, Leander’s Lacey Lindsey and Rouse’s Brittany McKissick will be playing for the 14u White team, which is headed to Moline, Ill., for their tournament.
The tournaments are the highest level of competition for each level of play.
