Future Spurs will be on display at the Cedar Park Center this season after the Austin Toros announced they will move to the year-old arena starting this season. Gee played for the Spurs developmental affiliate, the Austin Toros, last season, and has a good chance to play in Cedar Park with the Toros again this season. The pro sports scene in Cedar Park is getting bullish. Monday the Austin Toros announced they will be playing all their home games at the Cedar Park Center starting this season. The Toros are the National Basketball Developmental League affiliate for San Antonio Spurs, who are regarded as one of the top professional basketball teams in the nation.  Already home to the American Hockey League’s Texas Stars, who are affiliated with the Dallas Stars, the CPC will now boast two of the top minor league teams in Texas. The Toros will play 24 games at the center starting in November, while the Stars season will begin in October. The pro sports scene in Cedar Park is getting bullish.
Monday the Austin Toros announced they will be playing all their home games at the Cedar Park Center starting this season.
The Toros are the National Basketball Developmental League affiliate for San Antonio Spurs, who are regarded as one of the top professional basketball teams in the nation.
Already home to the American Hockey League’s Texas Stars, who are affiliated with the Dallas Stars, the CPC will now boast two of the top minor league teams in Texas. The Toros will play 24 games at the center starting in November, while the Stars season will begin in October.
There will be a chance to see area hoops stars such as Baylor’s Josh Lomers and Curtis Jerrels, who both played for the Spurs summer league team in Las Vegas.

The Toros played twice at the “Showdown at Cedar Park” against the Reno Bighorns in February, drawing about 2,900 fans per game, according to Peter Lubell, the Toros chief operating officer. The arena will hold about 4,672 seats for Toros games, according to a press release. Previously the Toros played at the Austin Convention Center, where they averaged about 2,000 fans per game.
On dates when the Stars and Toros both have home games the Toros will play at noon. Then, the arena will be made hockey-ready for the Stars game, according to general manager of the CPC and the Stars, Rick McLaughlin.
