Every Williamson County voter is scheduled to get a new voter registration card in the mail this December — and about one-third will find themselves in new election precincts.

There’s still details to be worked out — involving a controversial assessment of user fees — but after hearing citizen complaints and talk of 700 petition signatures, the Williamson County Commissioners Court on Tuesday reversed an earlier budget decision and restored $28,800 in funding to the county trapper program.
Tourism, economic boards asked to pitch in for new City Hall complex

The city’s tourism board and 4A and 4B development boards will be among those asked to share the costs associated with finishing out the new City Hall complex on Cypress Creek Road.

A rezoning request to allow different types of retail business on a North Lakeline Boulevard lot received backing by city staff and the planning and zoning commission, but not from a property owner abutting the property in question.
Dell gives grant funding for Launch Pad program

The Cedar Park Public Library received a $29,930 grant from Dell as part of its YouthConnect initiative. Dell chose the library to receive a portion of $3 million in funding to implement programs teaching information and technology skills. Only 24 organizations within the United States received the grant.

The Humane Society of Williamson County, in partnership with local civic action groups and the support of the Bell County Sheriff’s Department, led a rescue effort to save more than 75 dogs and puppies from a North Bell County puppy mill.
